End of my summer break

Well folks, this is about the end of my summer vacation.  I had a very fun filled summer break beginning with our staycation at Ko'olina Beach Club with my sister and her family, then a cruise to Alaska, and another staycation at Turtle Bay Resort for the 4th of July.  In between all these wonderful events, I attended 2 classes and organized my ELL summer school program.  I am always on an optimistic high when starting out a new school year.  The good news is that the school that I work at met our annual yearly progress on last year's state assessment.  Tate has been really busy this week with work so this weekend is going to be just rest and relaxation for us.  Next weekend, we have a day trip to Bellows for camping with some friends.  We have some other commitments that will keep us from spending the night.  Well enough of my ramblings and let me get you to my layouts for the week.

This first layout, is my little Bostyn playing at the beach.  For the blue background I used paper from Summertime Sorbet and the brown paper, staples, and slippers from Just Chillin' kit both from Creations by Tinamarie.  Tina has got some really fun colors in her Summertime Sorbet paper pack and came out with some matching paint and glitter splatters.  I can't wait to start on my next layout.  Oh, to make the bum, I just enlarged a font, clipped paper to it, and added a drop shadow to make it look more like an alpha chipboard.  Tina's paper already had that grungy bottom which made it look like the alpha had been inked.  I also used the same paper and clipped them to my dotted border.  I liked the variation of color that it gave.  The slippers, aka flip flops, are too cute!  I couldn't resist using them.

Now onto goodies at Design House Digital, I picked up this super fun kit, My Shades, by Sara Schmutz and made three layouts.  In this layout are my cutie nephews, Josh and Luke wearing their shades.  They are going to be cool just like their daddy.  This layout was inspired by their scraplift challenge.

Using the same kit I made this layout showing Bostyn wearing her numerous shades using one of Tiffany Tillman's template.

The papers were so cute with this kit that I wanted to do one with these cool floral and purple papers w/o the shades.  Again, using one of Tiffany's template.

I've been so bummed this week that the Oscraps gallery has been online.  I love looking at their gallery for inspiration so this.  It was a good thing that their store was open for me to pick up this awesome collab kit, Storyteller, by  Paislee Press and One Little Bird.  I did this layout for Oscraps web inspiration challenge.  It tells the story behind our crack up photo during our pre-wedding photo shoot.

I also completed this layout for Oscraps copycat challenge.  I used Paislee Press and Audrey Neal's collab kit, Photogenic.  It is a little older kit, but still one of my favorites.  The peek-a-boo word art is from One Little Bird's What Do You See kit.

I have more exciting news from the digi world, but I will have to save it for later.  I can't wait to share this one . . . it made me almost pee my pants.
