Che Yang Designs - Finally Here

Che Yang Designs has finally opened her shop with Elisa.  You can find their store here.

If you are following the blog train, welcome to my stop.  My word is "olive."

If you are just starting out here, please go to Elisa's blog to begin the train.  You must begin at Elisa's blog and collect words from each stop of the blog train.  Remember to keep your words in order for a chance to win a $20 GC to Elisa and Che's store.

Please continue the train to Peggy's blog to collect her word and another beautiful quick page.

Please feel free to download my quick page.  I used Che's kit, My Wish for You.  I love the colors in this kit!

There are several challenges on both Elisa and Che's blog so be sure to make it to the first stop, here, and ride the train all the way to the end to find Che.

RAK from Sue

My good digi friend, Sue, is offering $5 GC's to Sue Cummings shop.  Please stop by her blog and leave a comment telling her the best or worst gift you ever received.  Here are the details below.

Leiko Beck Photography

I had the pleasure of meeting Leiko Beck while vacationing with my family on the Big Island.  I know you all know Leiko as a talented designer but did you know that she is also a very talented photographer?  I had asked her to just take a few shots of my family but she spent hours with us on a full blown photo shoot.  I just loved how the photos turned out!!

Well, enough of my ramblings here are a few images.  Please visit her new and improved blog to view more images, here, my blog does not do these photos justice.

New Alpha Set from Sue Cummings

How can I forget about this one.  Sue Cummings has a NEW alphabet set in store at oscraps.  Here is the preview.

and here is my layout of my silly little girl . . . I can't believe I gave birth to this monkey

busy, busy, busy

I've been busy working on layouts and getting ready for Che Yang Designs big reveal and party on March 31st.

Here are layouts from two more budding designers.  I can't believe that they are all freebies.  They have the look and quality of stuff I would buy in a store.  I'm sure they will be selling their designs in no time.

The first mini kit, Happy Easter, is by Angie of Twelve by Twelve Designs.  I love her fun colors and cute accents and word art that is perfect for Easter.  I was so anxious to use this kit that I used a photo of Bostyn from last Easter.  This is her 6th month photo wearing the cutest little bunny outfit that her Aunty Jill had bought her.

The next mini kit, Spring is in the Air, is by Nini Designs.  I love the tree and all the little flowers and butterflies.  I also used her newest template.  Her designs are so clean and simple.  I love her approach to art and I am inspired every time.

So check back on Wednesday for some new layouts and a freebie quick page from me.

Che Yang Designs

We all know Che from the galleries by her amazing layouts that are enhanced with beautiful pictures of her daughter.  On March 31, 2010, the world will begin to know Che as DESIGNER Che Yang.  She will be joining forces with Elisa of EH Studios and opening her first shop.  For the past week I had the pleasure of playing with some of her new designs.  Stay tuned as there is going to be a blog hop to get some freebie quick pages.  You are not going to want to miss this.

the party continues . . .

Oscraps is continuing their week long birthday celebration.  Here are a few layouts that I completed for their monthly challenges.

For this challenge, I had to scrap about my last birthday and include song lyrics.  I came up with this.

For this next challenge, I had to complete a layout that described 4 things that I am thankful for in the digi scrapping world.  There are actually many things that I am thankful for and draw inspiration from, but I could only name 4.  Sometimes it is a photo that inspires me to do a layout.  Sometimes it is the kit, the colors, theme, elements.  However, most times I am inspired by all of you!  It is your comments, suggestions, and friendship that motivate and inspire me.  I never considered the following layout my best ever, the colors in all the photos were not all matching, you can't really see the oscraps collage in the bottom frame, etc . . .  I posted it anyways because I was just inspired.  Does that even make sense?  Well, as I was reading my daily blog updates, I came to Gallery Standouts.  As I scrolled down, what did I see?  My own layout!  I thought I had somehow gotten back to oscraps.  So here it is . . . thanks to all of you for the constant inspiration you give to me!

Happy Birthday Oscraps

It is party time at Oscraps.  The big O is turning 4 and has a lot of fun things planned.  Check out their blog hop for a bunch of freebies.  Many designers are having special sales and offers this week.

Designs by Sue Cummings has a 30% off sale.

Her creative team made a bunch of quick page cards for all of you to enjoy.  You can find it here on her blog.  Here are two cards that I made and can be found on Sue's blog.

I made this layout for the March Quote It Challenge at Oscraps.  This is me and my dear friends on my wedding day almost 4 years ago.  They all had to travel to the Big Island to share in my special day.

Funky + Fresh

Funky and fresh is the best way to describe Sue's new paper pack, citrus.cherry.crush.  It is available free on her blog.  Here is a super quick layout that I managed to get done.  Wondering why I said quick?  Easy as apple pie when you are using a template from Nini.  The template can be found on her blog, suddenly artistic.

And yes Sue, you know who I was referring to in my last post.  I guess congratulations to you too!  We are on the same team once again.

blog collage

I just downloaded this free blog collage action from MCP Actions.  I used Totally Rad Actions to get the vintage/sun kissed photo effects.  These pictures were taken a few days ago.  My sister will probably ask, "Why is bostyn without a shirt?  She is always topless?"  Well, her top had to come off because she had strawberry stains all over the front and I had to soak it right away because it was white.  I hope you like it.  I am having lots fun experimenting with different photo actions.  I gotta do it now before going back to school next week.

I also played around with photo textures.  For this  photo, I used Emily Power's Photology 2.0.  You can find it here at oscraps.

I also finished these layouts.  This first one was done for Sue Cumming's CT challenge.  It is so pinky, love it.

This next layout was for a web inspiration challenge at oscraps.  We had beautiful sunsets during our trip to Kona.  That is only what Tate took.  I can't wait to see how Leiko's photos turned out.  I should be getting my proof portfolio in the mail today.  So excited!!!

On another note, I'm so excited to share that I have been invited to join another CT team.  I don't want to give it away just yet.  This is someone new to the design world and probably the next big digi scrapping star.  I'm a big fan of her layout gallery and I know her designs will rock!!

That is all for now.  It is only 9:00am and lots more to do today.  Maybe a costco run for diapers and trash bags.  Bostyn then has her last music class for the semester.

New Slider Header

I am just trying out my new blogger slider header.  If you like it and want to give it a try go to Coffee Tea Photography blog for a step by step tutorial.  If I can do it so can you.  If my blog takes too long to load, please let me know and I can delete the slider.  It was something I just wanted to try out.

Here are more recent layouts.

This first one is using 52 Inspirations, week 11 by guest designer, Kitty Chen.  You can grab a copy of it at oscraps.  Don't you just love the bright purple and blue.  I really amazed myself at how fast I actually finished this layout.  I really do heart this.

This layout is for the catscrap blog challenge.  I had to use something that was old, new, doodled, and blue.  It wasn't hard to use the new Spring Rain kit and not so old Paradise Found kit both by One Little Bird.

The next layout is a lift of Linda's layout using Everyday Ordinary by Paislee Press and Emily Powers.  The word art is from Artistic Heart by Sue Cummings and Ashalee Wall.  I really sucked the color out of this one, but for some reason I really like it.  My mom would tell me that I need color.  I tried putting different background papers but I really liked the white.

Finally, I completed the Camera Corner challenge for this month at oscraps.  I had to take a picture of something that had something of 4 in it.  I took a picture of Bostyn with 4 crayons.  Bostyn loves to color and I can see an improvement in her fine motor skills.  No, she is not coloring in the lines or really drawing at all.  I do see an increase in her pressure, eye hand coordination, and ability to stay on the paper.  She does need reminders about not coloring in her books.  I know, I am a teacher, always assessing and checking on the development of my baby.

I also used Nini's template.  You can find it on her blog here.  She is the master of white space and her layouts are very inspiring.

What a productive day!!  I'm sure another post will follow in another day or two.

Spring Break

Today is the first official day of spring break!!!  Here are some layouts that I did over the weekend.

I love this new Paislee Press and Emily Powers collaboration kit called Everyday Ordinary.  The colors are so clean, fresh, and fun.

This next layout was made using Paradise Found by One Little Bird over at Catscrap.  My favorite element from this kit is the decorated bracket.  It is so amazingly pretty!!!

Sue Cummings has some new things coming out soon.  I'll be back later to post some of her new goodies.

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

I just wanted to post a few recent layouts that I did using Leiko Beck Designs before she closes out her shop.

Here are some cards that I made with Leiko's products.

Here are some older layouts that I did before ever joining her creative team:

Thanks for making it all the way down here.  Sorry, this turned out to be more than just a "few."  I didn't realize how many layouts I had done with Leiko's designs.  There are still a few more that I didn't post.

Monday, March 8, 2010

Leiko has decided to take a break from designing.  I will be among the many of you who will miss her fabulous designs.  I hope that one day, she will be able to find the time to devote to her designs.  Until that day, I wish her the best of luck in her new photography business and being a mother.  Please stop by her shop at oscraps for a huge 40% off sale until March 15th.  You better grab it now before it goes into retirement.  Be sure to also stop by her blog before the 11th for a chance to win a GC to her store.

Leiko just released a cute doodle pack which you can find here.  Here is a preview and a layout that I did.
